Today was an interesting day. My friend Eric and I got to skip out on classes and lunch today and go shopping. We started off our shopping adventure at a place called Alli Cat Consignment, then off to the local Salvo, and finally ending at Goodwill. What were we in search of? Women's shoes that were at least a size 10 and dresses to fit 6 foot tall men. Eric and I were quite successful in finding some very lovely outfits, A bedazzled Cosby Sweater, A Salmon Colored Muu-muu, and finally a Purple Crushed Velvet dress with white cap sleeves and a big white bow on the back. It was glorious. We weren't successful in the large shoe hunt, But that is our quest for tomorrow.

You might be wondering what all these delightful sounding clothes are for. It's for the Camp Beauty Pageant called "Miss Med-O-Lark". Each cabin get assigned one male counselor to make over and dress up and then there is a themed Beauty Pageant. This year's theme is a Western Theme and the guys are working on a dance to "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" and It will be amazing. My friend Eric can Rope Spin so he'll be doing some rope spinning tricks in drag, it's going to be AMAZING.

Oh and I get to dress up like a boy and escort the guy counselor to the pageant. So I was thinking about dressing up like a cowboy. It might have to happen. Or a lumberjack. Either way I am buying a fake beard tomorrow.

Tomorrow is extra large shoe and wig shopping day.

I'm in my film class right now. The children are merrily editing their movies that range from borderline creepy documentaries, damsel in distress narratives, and one very nasty cooking show. Last night for the 4th of July it was "Paint Your Counselor Night". Basically, I stood there while my campers threw red, white and blue paint on me. Then we had a runway show showing off our campers excellent creations. I got to do a wicked Cher impersonation, and finally the night ended with the counselors performing a firework spectacular (aka jumping in the lake)

And about 7:00 last night while I was debating whether Chuck or Nate was hotter with my 13 year old campers, I realized that this is my job and I get payed to talk about Gossip Girl and get attacked with paint.

FYI, Chuck Bass is so much hotter than Nate Archibald.

Ok. I am up here in Washington, Maine at Camp Med-O-Lark and last night we had our opening campfire. This camp is awesome and has the counselors blow fire to start the campfire and circus performers to juggle these torch things.
So I was sitting on the ground filming things and the juggler guy comes over by my campers and I... and what happens next.. he drops the flaming torch on me! I didn't light on fire. But I was filming when it happened so there is a very awkward video of me filming fire hitting the ground and little girls screaming. I was fine. I didn't scream. I am fearless.
We told the kids I was part of the circus act.. and that I was supposed to almost burn.
The rest of the campfire was totally awesome. We sang Brown Eyed Girl, Rocky Raccoon, and a variety of fun Repeat after Me Songs.

Today was my first day of teaching video. It was crazy exhausting. I got to paint a blue screen though and I have helped make 5 short videos with the kids with the blue screen in the last 3 days.

So far everything has been really good here. I get every other night off, one hour a day off, and every Sunday off.. There is wireless internet, and I get to go on fun field trips!

This camp has so much cool stuff. We have a trapeze, recording studio, a water trampoline, an inflatable iceberg, horses, chipwiches, and lots of other stuff. This camp is crazy awesome.

Well camp is good, but I miss the Cord a lot too..

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when youre older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and dawn
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we con only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game.

Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now
Cartwheels turn to car wheels thru the town
And they tell him,
Take your time, it wont be long now
Till you drag your feet to slow the circles down
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and dawn
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty
Though his dreams have lost some grandeur
Coming true
Therell be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty
Before the last revolving year is through.
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and down
Were captive on the carousel of time
We cant return, we can only look behind
From where we came
And go round and round and round
In the circle game

After one week in Pennsylvania I realized that if I stayed another minute I might go do something drastic, like take a picture of an Amish person, so I left. I asked my Grandma if I could stay with her for a week and help her around the house. It has been good so far. Better than I expected. I hated this town, but as soon as I fell back in to the the fucked up little world here I fell back in love with it. I hung out with people I haven't seen since high school and forgot how fucking funny they are.

So me and Monroe are friends again. The End.
